'America's Next Top Model: All Stars' recap: Final three named
We're down to our final four on America's Next Top Model: All Stars (where has this cycle gone?!) and the pressure is most definitely mounting.
First
up is the regular reflection on what happened last week. Angelea admits
she never thought Dominique would get sent home and seems to still be
smarting from the girls' comments about her last week.
Lisa,
meanwhile, thinks that Angelea's emotional outbursts aren't going
anywhere and suggests that it's become "survival of the fittest" and
she's "going the distance".
Laura's still on a high after her first photo finish ("I feel like I'm back!") and tells us how important it is for her reaching this stage on the All Stars cycle: "This doesn't happen to people where I come from. You better bet I actually have the strength and confidence to be the winner and it truly could be me this time."
Lisa thinks Laura is her biggest competition and her only flaw seems to be that she's being sexier than she's supposed to be.
This week's first challenge is a big one - they'll be trying to impress Vogue Italia's editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani by writing a blog on their experiences in Crete. They can drive around the island and take whatever photographs they want before returning to the hotel to write. After a day racing around the beautiful sights it's back to write before Nigel takes the blogs away to show Franca.
There's no time to rest, however, as it's off to meet Mr Jay for the next challenge - a motional editorial directed by Tyra! To add even more pressure, the girls will be re-enacting scenes from various chapters in Tyra's novel Modelland and they will shoot the scenes out of order across two days.
The motional editorial will be shown at this week's judging and next week's judging.
We get a montage of the girls filming various scenes such as running down the cobbled streets in gorgeous dresses, looking like warriors, being covered in water. The girls also have to film individual scenes. Lisa has to act like a "deranged" mother clutching a doll, Laura has to eat whipped cream (Tyra's main character Tookie is "obsessed" with it) and Allison sports a fake bloody lip after a cat "scratches" her.
As Angelea puts it, "This day is madness, like we had 18 photoshoots in one day!"
That night, Nigel returns with the results of their blog challenge after talking with Franca. He says Franca liked Laura's girl-next-door persona but doesn't think it was gripping enough; Allison's was too short; Lisa's was good because she compared Hollywood to Crete; while Angelea's included fashion and a comparison to home.
In the end Angelea wins! In addition to her return trip to Crete the hotel gives her a gold olive leaf crown.
Day two of the shoot sees (a topless) supermodel Tyson Beckford joining the motion editorial. He notes that Allison seems quieter than the rest and shy, something that Angelea definitely isn't when she goes in for a hug!
The day starts with Tyra posing in a pink catsuit on the beach for a serious of solo shots, before donning a navy dress for a scene alongside Tyson that is meant to represent a moment in the book where Tookie reveals she has never kissed a boy before.
The day ends with the girls running across the beach and navigating a rocky terrain to find Tyson who is standing on the top of a cliff waving a flag.
Each of the girls have to also pose for a photograph - where they reveal their face by removing a mask - as if they have just won the competition.
Tyson joins Tyra, Nigel and Andre Leon Talley for the judging, where we see the first part of the Modelland motional editorial.
Angelea is first to face the panel. She says she related to the pain and hurt of her emotional scene (where Tookie reflects on a lack of love from her father). Nigel thinks her crying scenes were "completely convincing" and reminded him of the shadow pictures from her last cycle. Andre thinks she's bounced back well from last week.
Andre thinks that Laura showed a different "strong, emotional" side in this, while Tyson says she did a great job as an actress but advises her to forget the camera is there, which Nigel echoes. Tyra also notes that she was initially sexy with the whipped cream despite trying not to be.
Nigel is very impressed with Allison but Tyson disagrees, suggesting she couldn't really find the camera. Allison admits she has trouble with the sunlight and Tyra says it's something she has to work around.
Finally, Tyson jokes that some of Lisa's moves were like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix. Tyra says she did a great, committed job every day and gave her chills in some scenes.
It's time for the deliberation and it seems like it's been going on for a long time. We see footage of the judges arguing over the girls and the producers and crew waiting around and urging a decision to be made.

Lisa is named the best girl in the motion editorial, followed by Angelea, which leaves Allison and Laura in the bottom two.
Tyra says Laura has a contagious, bubbly personality but they wonder if she can move past cuteness and into high fashion, while Allison has the opposite personality but her quirkiness makes her unique.
Laura is eliminated and becomes tearful when she tells Tyra she just wants to be seen as a respected model. Tyra says that she is one but something just got lost this time. Laura tells us that she has no regrets and she could never be disappointed in her life when she thinks of everything she has accomplished at 22.
